We did it! Over a year and a half ago politicians in Jefferson City attacked working families in Missouri when they passed their harmful ‘Right to Work’ law. But working people across the state stood up and fought back. We gathered signatures in every corner of Missouri to put the issue before the voters, we knocked doors, we made phone calls, we organized! It was a lot of work, but it paid off with the defeat of Proposition A!
Proposition A would have been devastating to not only our labor unions, but to all working families in Missouri, and this victory is critical to maintaining worker power. But we know that the Missouri General Assembly is not done attacking us or our unions. So while we celebrate our awesome victory, we also need to keep the momentum going.
The defeat of Proposition A can be a turning point for Missouri. We’ve shown that when we stand together we can take on corporate power and win; let’s keep the victories for Missouri’s working families coming by passing Amendment 1 and Proposition B in November!
