Instead of listening to frontline workers and protecting our health – Jefferson City politicians are listening to their corporate donors and rewarding them for putting working families in danger.
Instead of working for us and ensuring we have everything to keep our families safe and healthy – Gov. Parson and politicians are taking orders from corporations and their lobbyists. The Chamber of Commerce and the politicians they bankroll are trying to take as much as they can from our communities while putting our lives at risk. These corporations refuse to pay their fair share and now they are writing the rules to make sure they aren’t held accountable for the harm they are inflicting during this pandemic – and beyond.
So-called “corporate immunity bills” give corporations the green light to avoid any accountability and completely ignore health and safety guidelines. This will cause a health and safety disaster across sectors and communities. Black, Latinx, and other Missourians of color will be most directly harmed by these negligent policy choices.
Rather than giving corporations a free pass to maximize their profits while getting workers sick, Missouri should be doing everything it can to protect working families and prevent the spread of COVID-19 in workplaces, nursing homes, and other care facilities. Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and other workers of color are disproportionately getting sick and dying from COVID-19 – this is the real crisis our elected officials must address.
Demand our legislators Vote NO on any bill that will hurt workers and public health. >>>
