Members of Sheetmetal Workers Local 2 at Silgan Containers in St. Joseph, Missouri went on strike this past year to oppose an unfair contract proposed by management. Missouri Jobs with Justice mobilized community support to stand with workers on the strike line and provide material support over five months. We engaged partners like Our Revolution St. Joe for solidarity rallies and to place letters to the editor in support of the strike in local papers. While the strike is over, Missouri Jobs with Justice will continue to expand our coalition in St. Joseph and beyond to support worker solidarity and grassroots policy fights.
